I gave up nighttime snacking for Lent.
This means that after I eat dinner, I am done eating — no matter how hungry I feel.
With young kids and sports, we sometimes eat dinner earlier than most people.
To compensate for an early dinner, I’ll eat more healthy and protein-rich snacks during to day to quell any hunger I may feel after dinner.
For the most part, it’s been pretty easy for me.
But last night was tempting.
I hadn’t snacked as much during the day, so I was hungrier than normal after the kids went to bed.
But I told myself how disappointed I would be if I gave up now, just one week into the Lenten season.
Instead, I got a sparkling water to drink.
Shortly after I finished drinking my Lime LaCroix, I felt full again.
We have way more will power than we realize.
We have way more control over our choices than we often exhibit.
Here’s to unleashing our inner strength,
Lauren
