We woke up late today.
My husband and I both slept through our alarms.
I was up in the middle of the night with our youngest daughter, so I not entirely surprised I missed my alarm.
But I still panicked when I woke up.
We only had 20 minutes to get the older kids fed and off to school.
Luckily our oldest daughter had already woken herself up with her alarm.
She had already made and eaten her breakfast.
I took a deep breath and told myself to relax.
This would be fine.
Our son jumped out of bed when I told him we only had 20 minutes to get ready for school.
He likes to wake up early and hates feeling rushed.
I reassured him that if he moves as fast as his fastball he’ll have plenty of time.
He got dressed, ate his breakfast sandwich, brushed teeth and got shoes on with four minutes to spare.
Both kids were ready right on time.
It’s amazing how quickly we can move when we give ourselves a deadline.
